Heartthrob Harry Styles is at the peak of his solo career. The singer and songwriter first gained fame as a member of the British-Irish boy band One Direction, which formed in 2010 on the talent show X-Factor. Despite worldwide success, the band took an indefinite hiatus after five years together, which almost all of the members used to pursue solo careers. Harry Styles reached the top of the British charts in 2017 with his first solo single, Sign Of The Times, a surprisingly rocking number. Tickets for his subsequent world tour sold out in no time. Harry Styles' first studio album, which bears his name, not only shot to number 1 in the British album charts when it was released in May 2017, but also topped the charts in Australia, Canada, the USA and Ireland. At the end of 2019, the almost equally successful follow-up album Fine Line was released, featuring the three singles Lights Up, Adore You and Watermelon Sugar. The latter is Harry Styles' most successful song, with 8.4 million units sold. With his music, which is a mixture of pop, soft rock, folk and psychedelia, the musician now inspires more than just former One Direction fans.
Not least because of his unusual clothing style, the Brit is an artist who likes to go against the mainstream. In addition to his musical career, the artist, born in Redditch in 1994, made his acting debut in the 2017 war drama Dunkirk. In 2022, he appeared in the psychological thriller Don't Worry Darling.
