The National Tickets: AB100 Festival 2026 in San Sebastián
The National tickets are on sale now for their only concert of 2026: on 18 October, the band headlines the AB100 festival closing night at the Auditorio Kursaal in San Sebastián, Spain. Billed as «The National & Friends», this is also their first live performance since 2024. General ticket sales opened on 3 August via kursaal.eus. Cherry Tree fan club members had presale access from 30 July. This San Sebastián concert 2026 is not a conventional tour stop. It is the centrepiece of a two-day event across San Sebastián and Biarritz, organised to mark the 50th birthdays of twin brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner.Formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1999, The National have spent more than two decades building one of the most consistent catalogues in indie rock. The five-piece, led by vocalist Matt Berninger alongside Aaron and Bryce Dessner on guitars and brothers Scott and Bryan Devendorf on bass and drums, have released ten studio albums on labels including Beggars Banquet and 4AD. «High Violet» (2010) reached number three on the US Billboard 200 and was certified gold in the UK, Ireland, Belgium and Denmark. «Sleep Well Beast» (2017) topped the charts in Canada, Ireland and the UK and won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2018. In 2023, the band released two studio albums back to back: «First Two Pages of Frankenstein» and «Laugh Track», the former reaching number one in Ireland and the Netherlands. The AB100 closing show promises a one-off lineup with rotating collaborators, following a format the band and the Dessners have cultivated through decades of collective projects.
